Where did all the gentlemen go?

gent·le·man

noun /ˈjentlmən/
gentlemen, plural

A chivalrous, courteous, or honorable man

There was a period in time where women rarely had to open doors. Where did all the gentlemen go? Gentlemen died when women start fighting for equality.Through time, women rise above men and became stronger than men in some cases. This indirectly resulted in the lost of ladies and affected the death of gentlemen. If there’s no ladies why would we need gentlemen?

Men learn that ladies do not want to be deemed as the weaker sex. They want equality, they want power, they want voice. Generation after generation, this made men forget to teach their boys how to be a gentleman. The art of being a gentleman slowly died off and ladies continue to reign on as they became more and more capable.

But, this is no excuse for man not to be gentleman. Have you notice why ladies always find the older guys more charming? It’s because they might be the last of gentleman. We should bring back the art of gentleman. Ladies or not, every woman deserves a gentleman.

Men, it’s time to get your hands dirty. Answer the call of manhood. Be a gentleman.

Most memorable kiss.

Who: A girl I adore very much still
When: Roughly 2 years ago
Where: In the cinema

Story:
We have known each other for awhile. Attracted to each other definitely, but not in a relationship. It was our first time going to the movies. The movie we went to watch was G.I.Joe. Not the greatest movie but cool none the less.

I remembered it was a weekday. We went to the cinemas after a simple dinner and I bought popcorn. Seats were great, right at the dead center. Movie started off okay but lost a bit of steam half way through with all the chatter scenes. I was munching away my popcorn and gave some to her.

We started whispering, then I mentioned about a favor I did for her recently that I deserve a kiss for. Being bold, I lean my right cheek towards her just to tease and she nonchalantly gave me a peck. Surprised, a little embarrassed and stunned I sat there for a moment. Then I decided to give her a kiss on the cheek in return. I turned my head and looked at her for a split second and lean towards her cheek. Without a sign, she pushed her lips towards mine and they met.

We did talked about it after the movies and both of us had a good laugh. Bet she’s super embarrassed after knowing that I just wanted to kiss her cheeks.

That’s my most memorable kiss.

Guys are built to chase in a relationship.

Times have changed, we hear that women are often the one pursuing in a relationship these days. I’m fine with the notion but you have to realize that guys are built to chase in a relationship.

Why?

Guys plays at least one type of ball sport when they were young and these ball sports are mostly team games. At a young age we are conditioned to be competitive. We often work hard as a team to win but also occasionally you have one-man-show type dick heads.

So what about guys and sports and relationship?

We are trained to chase the ball.We will run for it, fight for it, grab it and score it. Isn’t this familiar? It totally reflects how men behave in relationships. In comparison, we choose a girl, we find ways to approach the girl, and if there’s some other guys in the picture, we fight for the girl, get her in the end and ‘score’ it.

We are not being an ass when we choose to refuse that one girl who loves us so much and has been waiting patiently for a long time. Guys are just simply built to chase. It’s a thrilling process and most probably the best period of a relationship.

It’s no wonder why girls are conditioned to play ‘hard-to-get’ on the other hand.

I blame Tom and Jerry for the violent generation.

Tom and Jerry has been around for 50 years. It’s created by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera. Original series is notable for having won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film 7 times. For the newer age group that has missed this cartoon. It’s about a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) who literally are on each others throat 24/7.

Maybe before reading the post, you should watch this first episode of Tom and Jerry – notice how the owner calls him Jasper instead.

I bet for the familiar ones, that MGM Lion roar definitely brought back nostalgic moments for you. I laughed as much as I did when I was little.

If you remembered, Tom and Jerry are always trying to eliminate each other in every episode. They will find whatever weapon or tool and swing at each other without holding back one bit. Miraculously, it misses each other by that inch every time. They would rinse and repeat throughout every episode and here’s what I noticed. Kids eventually picked up the violence portrait in the cartoon. Kids think that it’s fun to be violent and abusive towards one another. After all, nobody ever gets hurt or die. Here are some statements to back up.

“While the relation between television violence viewing and aggression in childhood has been clearly demonstrated, only a few studies have examined this relation from childhood to adulthood, and these studies of children growing up in the 60s reported significant relations only for males.” – L. Rowell Huesmann [source]

“Since the 1960s, a body of research literature has been accumulating on the effects of TV violence. Taken together, the studies conclude that TV violence is one of many factors that contribute to aggressive behavior.” – The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation

I blame Tom and Jerry for the violent generation. Watch this episode and see for yourself.

Unfailing Love

Amongst the crowd, I see a familiar face,
the very one that puts my heart in place.
Her smile so enchanting how could I miss,
Proclaiming aloud she’s my eternal bliss.

Shy, I was to gaze upon her beauty,
smother, I dare not to let her wary.
My delicate heart pounds with racing beat,
How slowly time passes to await her greet.

Her presence is like a magnifying glass,
enlarging the feelings I try to pass.
Suppress I must, the words I dare not spill,
I sit back and play it cool and chill.

It’s only a matter of time till she departs,
and again my heart will be pieces and parts.
Still, this feeling inside I cannot hide,
that one day I want you to be my bride.

Watch it! Nasi Lemak 2.0 2011

It’s a title that questions you. What the hell is Nasi Lemak 2.0? Where was Nasi Lemak 1.0? My guess is that Nasi Lemak 1.0 is what we’re eating now.

Anyhow, Namewee has been quite notorious with all his YouTube videos and now a movie that passed the censorship board of Malaysia and made it into the theater? If you’re a Malaysian and you heart it, you don’t need a better reason to watch this movie. And mind you, please go to the cinema and watch this film. My friend has the nerve to ask ‘can download ah?’. You can buy/download all the freaking pirated movies from Hollywood for all I care but please support our local good products (not just any product).

Overview
On to the movie. I love how Namewee fused so many Malaysia essence into this movie and not overdo it. The cultural beauty of Malaysia is nicely portrait throughout the movie. Of course there are some parts where it reflects how racist we can be, the harmless sarcastic way of how we perceive each other. On the flip side, there are also political hints planted throughout the movie. Mostly distinguishable if you’re the Bersih 2.0 Malaysian and others subtle and requires you to piece the puzzle to fit our current political issues. And that’s what I think made the movie funny and worth watching.

Big shout out also to the cast he was able to pull in for the movie which includes Karen Kong (main actress), Afdlin Shauki, Adibah Noor, Dato David Arumugan (Alleycats), Nadine Ann Thomas (Miss Malaysia 2010), Kenny Chan & Chee Hood Siong (Baba Nyonya series), Reshmonu and countless cameos.

Favorite Scene
The keris fighting part which was interrupted by ‘Han Tu Yah’

Embarrassing Moments: Housemate caught me butt-naked (SFW)

This happened awhile back with my ex-housemates.

It was a lovely Sunday afternoon and the girls (I stayed with 3 other girls) and I thought we’ll go out and have some dessert stuff or take a walk around any mall. Since we’re pretty indecisive, we decided to just get ready and hop into the car before we waste the entire afternoon sitting in the living room discussing.

The girls went to their rooms to freshen up while I took a super quick shower to lower down my body temperature. I went in the bathroom straight without closing both my room door and toilet door. It’s gonna be quick and definitely no one would walk in on me. With just a few splash of water, I’m done. I took the tower and stand in front of the mirror to dry myself.

At this very moment, one of my housemate decided to just walk into my room to ask me a question. I could hear her footsteps walking into my room. It was too late for me to shout ‘stop’ or anything. All I could do is face away from her and let her admire my entire naked backside.

Here are some pictures to further illustrate the incident:

Layout of my room plus position of my housemate.

That’s where I stood.

Perks of being pretty while driving.

If you remembered, back in May I posted a video about a girl in UK who proved that pretty girls have it easy. Here’s a true story about my friend’s encounter.

So my friend was driving in the afternoon. She made a mistake at the traffic lights and caused another car to emergency brake into a slight spun. Cars are fine and both are unhurt. She was a little frightened because she knew it was her fault. More fear induced when my friend saw the spun car’s door sprung opened and this man furiously jumped out with testosterone so pumped ready for a fight.

He dash towards my friend’s car. When he reached my friend’s driver door, he still couldn’t see who the driver was until my friend wind down her window due to heavy tinting. In a split second, like a raging bull turned into a timid mice he said –

小姐有是吗?
(Are you alright miss?)

“It’s amazing what a pretty face with boobs can do.”

If I were a Bitizen in Tiny Tower.

If I were a Bitizen…

I’ll stay at Electic Apartments

or High Tech Apartments.

My business would be Mapple Store (Apple Store)

but I secretly work at the Private Eye.

I’ll eat at Asian Cuisine mostly

but also occasionally goes to BBQ Place for their Beef Ribs.

I’ll be the gentleman

and you’ll be my lady.

We’ll dine at Fancy Cuisine

before we watch a play at the Theater.

If everything goes well, I’ll bring you to meet James Dean who stays above me.

But if you’re like Ruben Taylor who is a fan of Justin Beiber.

I’ll evict you off my tower as fast as I did for Joyce McDonald who clearly has got zero talent.

Else, if everything goes well. We might visit the Wedding Chapel and live happily ever after.

The End.

That darn radio is making me cry!

Upon hearing the first beat of ‘Our Song’. Tears just couldn’t stop rolling down your cheeks. It’s devastating to a point that all you could do is just to run into your room and cry out loud into the pillow hoping your parents don’t hear you. Picture perfect memories of your other half runs effortlessly and continuously through your mind till it wears you down and fall asleep only to find yourself awaken to rinse and repeat the whole scenario again.

It’s amazing how songs amplify the emptiness and loneliness after a heart break.

You then start to wonder when will all these nonsense come to a halt. What seems to be minutes are now days. You look around you, everything just stops. That void is ripping your heart out into abyss. But fret not my deary, with a little wisdom and time. It will heal your heart whole. You’ll wake up to the sound of birds chirping that you once thought was lost forever. You’ll run like the wind that you once thought nothing could ever make you move again. You’ll look back and laugh at your adolescent years that made you wiser and stronger.

Then that darn radio plays your ‘Our Song’. You immediately felt this gush of warmness rising from your belly. It’s familiar but yet different. Your memories has not failed you that you recognize this pattern you once had. In a blink of an eye, you didn’t feel any tears rolling. Instead, the edge of your lips break into a smile. Even chuckles from your heart at your silly self and the moments you had with your ex. You then look around you… life is good. You’re happy with the moments you’ve collected in life.

“Collect moments, not things.”

Why not share the song that made you teared in the comments below? I’ll promise to share mine after the 10th comment providing you won’t laugh at it.
