I was lucky enough to be able to follow them around while they were in Malaysia back in 2012. Had the best time going behind the scenes with the twins seeing their love and passion for music.

The kid who wants everything spotless and shiny.
I heard a hilarious story recently.
A kid who was obsessed with cleanliness literally wants everything to look spotless and shiny.
She would try to pull down the ceiling fan cause she couldn’t reach the upper part to clean it. The result was that the father had to buy a new fan because she bent the current one. Her mum asked her to help out with washing the vegetable but ended up with a crushed dinner because she was washed them as if they were clothes. Her mum was extremely furious though.
Lastly, the kicker. She went to visit her uncle’s house. Outside the house there was this small pond with a fish inside. The fish is black, the pond is dark and looks dirty. She thought “poor thing, all black, let me clean you up” She nonchalantly grab some Fab detergent and started pouring into it. When the uncle found out what happened, the fish died. She was very very sad.
After a good laugh hearing the story. I ponder upon the innocence of a child-like belief. The belief that everything in this world should be clean. The belief that a black fish could turn white with Fab. How did we all grow up to be tainted with all the sins and corruption. Is education to be blamed? Is the society today to be blamed?
If only we all stay innocent like a child forever. There will be no war, no tears.

The Amazing Spider Cat Adventures [Video]
If you know me well enough, you would know that I hate cats. My previous post here explains why.
But this video is just too awesome not to share.
Watch the video till the end and check out the 2nd cat. I like how the 2nd cat in the video was trying to check out the spider cat’s paw. Seems like it’s saying “Hey, what’s on your paw man?”
This is how gamers cuddle.

Things I loathe #43 – People who drag their feet
Are you one of them who drags their feet on the ground when you walk? If you ain’t, do you find it annoying when the person walking around you does it?
By dragging your feet when you walk is more than just annoying. Have anyone not ever tell you not to drag your feet while you walk? The social perception implies that you’re a lazy person and a slob. You’re weak and uninspired to even go from point A to B. You scoot around like a zombie. I’m not being prejudice here just wondering why do people do it.
I could somewhat forgive you if it was flip-flops in the summer. But to do that whole year round? Are you wearing poorly fitted shoes passed down by your big feet cousin? Didn’t your parents told you that the sole of your shoe will wear out faster?
Anyway, while searching for this particular behavior online. I found a funny answer on Yahoo Answers.
J9: Yes! There’s this girl in my law class who does it. She always arrives late and then drags her feet all the way to her seat. Shes known as shuffle-girl.
I personally find how they call her shuffle-girl hilarious!
Lastly, do yourself a favor and lift your feet up and walk properly for the love of life.

Lata Hammer Waterfalls – Just Jump! [Video]
I love waterfalls. This time we traveled quite far up all the way to Bentong, Pahang. Lata Hammer is best accessible using 4×4 cars due to the rough terrain that may damage the undercarriage of your normal sedan or saloon car.
The hike is a simple but not direct walk in the park. Our group got split up and the ones ahead miss the sign and went all the way to the end of the road where they only see a river.
Upon arriving the waterfall. We actually caught up with some friends who were they earlier than us. Aren’t there anymore waterfalls in Malaysia that we actually met our friend at the very same waterfall on a Sunday? As you can see from the picture, there are plenty of room for you to setup your picnic area or tent for overnight stay. There was this other family who has set up a tent on the higher ground and stayed the night before.
The magical thing about Lata Hammer Waterfalls are the butterflies. There are a species seen fluttering around and even the Rajah Brooke butterfly. I couldn’t take a picture of it but the video below shows.
Like all waterfalls, the water is cold. Lata Hammer has water so cold that I could feel my legs tingling whenever I swim. The current is very strong near the waterfall so please becareful not to get sucked by the vortex. We spend most of our time trying to balance on a piece of super long log we found and jumping into the water from higher grounds. The waterfall is so deep that even by holding your breath and trying to reach the bottom is nearly impossible. So it’s pretty safe if you know how to jump off cliffs and not fall right at the foot of the hill.
Lastly, just jump!
Malaysia’s Taxi Horror Stories #2
Audrey’s friend who is Malaysian came back from Singapore to visit. She stayed in Bukit Bintang area and they decided to meet up in PJ one evening. She knew the etiquette of Bukit Bintang taxis and insist on finding a taxi that uses meter.
The first taxi she approached offered RM25 to send her to PJ. She kindly turn it down and approached another taxi. The next taxi said RM40. She walked away again and lucky for her, the third taxi agreed to use meter.
Upon arriving destination, she was shocked that the meter showed RM50. She didn’t know that she was in a premium taxi. Should’ve paid RM25 yeah?
Hacking Malaysia’s Personal Income Tax
Everyone must be scrambling to file their taxes in Malaysia for 2012 before the deadline of April 30th. But before you rush to it, here are a few hacks for your Malaysia tax.
1. Apple iPad is entitled to LHDN personal income tax relief but not Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Any tablet that includes a cellular phone feature that allows you to make a telephone call or text using telco services is consider a phone and not a tablet therefore you cannot claim. Please take note that my tablet suggestions are not limited to Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab.
2. Any broadband subscription including telco broadband service is claimable up to RM500 per year.
Broadband meaning your Streamyx, Unifi, Celcom, Digi, Maxis and also all smartphone broadband plans. This does not include your dial up 1515 or 1511.
3. E-books are consider books too.
Maximum claims of RM500 per year.
4. RM300 for short lifespan sports equipment.
This INCLUDES shuttle cocks, tennis balls, ping pong balls but EXCLUDE sport shoes, bicycle, swim wear and bla bla bla. (WTF RIGHT?)
5. Keep your receipts for 7 years.
Some receipts do fade away after a certain amount of time. My suggest would be take a picture of them and store them online – google drive, skydrive, dropbox, etc
Further inquires, please call to LHDN at 1300-88-3010 or email to callcentre@hasil.gov.my.

Malaysia’s Taxi Horror Stories #1
My dear friend Miss T from Indonesia was back in KL for her convocation. She and her mum and younger sister arrived 1 day earlier and stayed at one of the hotels at Bukit Bintang. The father arrived one day later and opted to stay in Pudu so the ladies would need to go meet him at the new hotel. This means they need a taxi ride from Bukit Bintang to Pudu.
If you’re unfamiliar with Bukit Bintang of KL. It’s the heart of the golden triangle where everyone gathers to eat, shop, loiter or just about anything in KL. They spent a good 30 minutes trying to get a taxi that uses meter to Pudu but in vain. Taxi drivers who notice that they do have luggage even asked for RM50 just to drive them to Pudu from Bukit Bintang. It’s literally walking distance if you minus the inconvenience of a child and luggage.
Refuse to give in to any of the absurd charges the taxi drivers wanted, her mum decided to walk all the way down the street and get a taxi from there. Finally her mum got a taxi that agrees to use meter. That means stopping in front of the hotel of Bukit Bintang before going to Pudu. The taxi driver was absolutely fine till the moment he realized that he has stopped in front of a hotel and there were luggage. He got so furious and came out of the car mumbling in distress.
Miss T immediately signal that there’s a heavy big luggage that needs to be help to put into the trunk. Taxi driver saw but refused to help and continue mumbling louder. Her mum even tripped down while trying to rush towards her to help carry the luggage. Moments later in the taxi. Miss T expressed how upset she was and why couldn’t he helped. He shouted in Malay and my friend couldn’t make up what it was. He then decided to turn the volume of the radio to the max for the whole entire trip. Lucky for my friend, the trip was short.
Upon hearing this story, it’s a tremendous dismay of how much services in general suck in Malaysia. We have absolutely zero courtesy when it comes to serving others. Even if my friend were to call or write in to complain about this matter to the Taxi Service authorities. You and I know that they will most probably ignore this matter and the taxi drivers will continue their hooligan attitude.
