I swam in Halong Bay, Vietnam. [Video]

Halong Bay is located in Vietnam. Halong Bay is made up of about 2000 small islands scattered around as seen from the picture above. Before we get on to the video where I swam in Halong Bay, let me show you around first.

The pier where we get on a small boat to our Junk Ship.

This is the ship where me and my friends stayed for 1 night.

You’ll see islands and islands for the entire journey at Halong Bay.

Chilling on the Junk Ship drinking Vietnamese coffee  is second to none.

We visited the floating villages. There are several floating village where villagers spend their life from cradle to grave here.

There is a beautiful cave for you to visit too.

Now to the video where I swam in Halong Bay

I’ve always wondered what does it feel to jump off from a high ground into the sea just like in the movies. After experiencing it, I want to tell you that it’s just amazing. Yes,  I did feel the fear for a split second when I jumped off the ledge. Your guts are being pushed upwards towards your throat and you feel like your heart is gonna leave you. But as soon as you stabilizes the thrills kick in. I jumped several times after and the fear remained but the thrill adds on.

“Visit Halong Bay if you’re in Vietnam, else you’ve not been to Vietnam.”

Lambir Waterfalls Revisited

I find myself returned once more to Lambir Waterfalls.

A place I almost drowned 2 decades ago. It happened right where the girl in the picture was standing. I was young and naughty and did not know how to swim.

My relatives from Sandakan, Sabah brought a friend to visit Miri and my dad decided to bring all of us to the waterfalls. The place was packed as it was a weekend. The adults all went out of the water but I stayed in. The cold water didn’t bother me one bit.

Loving the feeling of going deeper into the water. I tip-toed my way towards the deep end. Slowly and carefully I was caught off-guard by the sudden cliff that appeared. I couldn’t feel anything under my feet. Immediately I was sinking deeper and deeper. As the water rushes into my mouth, I could barely shout or let alone say anything. As I tried to signal for help, my limbs are working as hard as possible to keep myself afloat.

I thank God that my actions actually caught someone’s attention. In the corner of my eye, I saw him rushed towards me and grab me back on shore with ease. Despite the shock, I could recognize that the guy was actually my relative’s friend.

Today, as I was walking back into Lambir. I could remember all the foot steps I’ve taken. Standing there in front of the waterfall with memory imprint where my parents sat, how I almost drowned, how I was saved…

Welcome back to Lambir Waterfalls. You are as beautiful as you are.

Global Gathering 2007 : Piglets In Rave

Global Gathering is a rave event mainly organize in Europe most of the time. But this year they think otherwise because they’ve chosen to come Asia. What’s better? They are coming to M’sia’s A’Famosa.

It has been awhile since I gotten into big raves and seriously have fun. So on a last minute planning basis I just grab body and off I go to Malacca. Global Gathering also prepare some Xtreme sports for us like G-force X, Giant Swing, Bungee Jump and Zorb. Wanted to try it out but after eating something, it’s definitely not recommended to provoke yourself to puke. There’s 6 arenas for you to choose from. Global, God’s Kitchen, Freedom Electric, Freedom, Foambar, Solid Gold. Global with nice dance music suitable for everyone. God’s Kitchen featuring all sort of trance. Freedom Electric featuring live bands with new age dance music. Freedom is an arena where you get to hear famous dance songs being mixed. Foambar is for the wild and sexy bikinis rubbing each other in foam. Solid Gold is retro with roller-skates!

Oct 27, event starts at 2pm but who in the right mind in M’sia’s weather would dance 2pm in the afternoon? So the party didn’t exactly start till 9pm at night. Everyone was there for God’s Kitchen’s performance. 8pm Fono started the music and people started to flock in. By the way, I forgotten to mention that the whole place is muddy and watery, hence why I put the title ‘Piglets In Rave’. The bad thing about the sand is that it produces this awful smell equivalent what most would say cow dung. That didn’t stop the party though. After Fono did a great transition and pass it on to Sander Van Doorn at 9pm. The party went out of hand and everyone is gathered around God’s Kitchen to dance. Despite the awful smell and icky muddy feeling around your bare feet or shoe or slippers or sandals, everyone just continue indulging the mud like piglets taking a mud bath. It’s all good!

I spent most of my time in God’s Kitchen arena simply because their song is like magnet. I danced till my body ask me to take a rest but the music kept my feet going on. I dance a little in Foambar and Global. Global plays pretty nice tracks and I saw some foreigner frustrated because her boobs got grab when the foam gush out. Oh well…

The super highlight for me would be Johan Gielen the DJ from God’s Kitchen. He has got awesome skills and great crowd contact. He even lower down the volume for us to shout along with the beat that was started by me. Ahh.. yes that’s priceless!

Another crazy highlight would be the random after party we ended up at. ‘Ang mo’s’ from UK teaching in Thailand high on drugs and still partying on after the event ends at 4am. That’s not whacked. What’s whacked is that some random party people came by again and out of no where asked to borrow a room for her mother-in-law to sleep. Nothing can be more whacked than that man!

Of course not forgetting the people I partied with there. The bunch of Mirians who flew down just for it. Those who came down from Singapore. My buddies from KL.

Reminiscing Club Med

I can still smell the fresh cool salty breeze from Club Med Cherating Beach last weekend. Seriously it’s an experience, a getaway that I would recommend for you all out there reading this!

It’s a place for you to experience the life of Kings and Queens. You are treated with top class, you have 3 meals of buffet to eat till you drop. And not to mention the dishes to choose from… Korean, Japanese, Western, Chinese, Indian, Malay cuisine and oh, dessert galore! Free flow of beer that guarantees you a bigger beer belly. Wine enough for you to chill till you drop.

Besides all these. They have an auditorium with cool and funny shows every night. Here they either have theater or performances and even group dance sessions! And best of all, 24 hours swimming pool with heated water and a jacuzzi corner to ensure that you have a good time!

They have trapeze, roller hockey, basketball, bungee bounce, rock climbing, kayak sessions, yoga, gym and so much more that I just couldn’t list down here but for you to explore and experience!

The staff and guest are nice and friendly. So many different types of ethnicity from a variety of countries. The kids and babies wandering around adorably will ensure that you have a warm fuzzy feeling on-the-go anytime, anywhere! The bonuses are like Italian, Spanish and many more other hunks and sweet Jap or Korean and many more luscious bodied hot chicks and they are super friendly FYI!

I shall stop here and let you do the exploring part yourself. If you’ve not been to Club Med, you’ve never been on a holiday.
