Sorry, no ‘ang pao’ for your wedding if you serve shark’s fin. [Infographic]

To all my dearest friends, I would like to say sorry in advance if you do serve shark’s fin soup during your wedding. I would still attend your wedding but most probably you won’t find my ‘ang pao’.

Why? The infographic below explains everything.

3000km, 2 weddings, 1 dive trip.

 Wednesday 11.26pm
I was standing in front of the conveyor belt waiting for my luggage in Miri airport. Always feels good to be home.

This trip was made for 2 main purposes, a wedding and a dive trip. It’s a short 2 days 2 nights trip because I had to come back to KL for another wedding. Would have bail that KL wedding but no, ain’t gonna let the bride give me shit till the day I die.

Thursday 6:41pm
Arrived early for the wedding to beat the parking shortage.

This wedding ain’t no typical Chinese restaurant wedding. It’s held in Ming Cafe itself! If I didn’t have to dive the next morning. I would go crazy on the yummy pork buffet line. Did a speech for the lovely couple in the picture and kinda made the groom teared a little. Hope I didn’t say anything to upset him. Few friends and I had to go slow on drinks and leave before the clock strikes 12. Great food, great company, great laughter, great wedding! Congrats again to Alex & Agnes.

dive

Friday 7:28am
Kolok mee for breakfast before the dive.

Did 3 dives. One of it was a wreck dive where a Japanese warship has sank during World War II. Upon arriving on the location itself, you could smell the oil leakage from the ship wreck itself. Makes me wonder why is there still oil in that ship even after 68 years. Will write a more in depth post on this dive soon for those who wants to read more about it.

Saturday 12:33am
Decided to watch The Conjuring with a couple of friends.

By now, I’m dead tired. Took a power nap before heading to the cinema. It’s an amazing horror film. Couple it up with a midnight show, it sure does gives you the chills. Can feel my chair moved because of sudden jolts by others on the same row. One thing for sure, trust Asians in making horror films. Did you know the director, James Wan was born in Kuching? So proud of Sarawak roots!

Saturday 9:50am
First in line to board AirAsia. Super ‘kiasu’. Got a nice front seat 11B but the seats can’t recline. Freaking hell!

Saturday 6:33pm
Woke up by a phone call.

Good thing that call came in. My alarm was set to 6am instead of pm. I could’ve so missed the wedding. I’m happy I made it to the wedding. It’s such a blessing being able to witness all the joy and happiness that is bestowed upon my friend Shu Fen. And partying with her again makes me realize how much I’ve missed and appreciate her company. Congrats to you Chuong & Shu Fen.

Lastly, not forgetting all the family and friends that I’ve met up with in these few days. I had the time of my life! I thank God for the safe journey, 2 wonderful weddings, the dive trip and countless joys and laughter.

The Almost Surprise Proposal [video]

aa

The story is that Alex told Agnes that he will be arriving to KL on Wednesday morning. But in fact he was already in KL the day before.

The grand surprise is that I’ll get Agnes to Mid Valley to rendezvous with Alex for the proposal.

Everything went well until Tuesday morning. Agnes told me around 11:00am that she didn’t want to go Mid Valley with my dad anymore because she will be leaving the office late. I panicked because how else could I trick her into going to Mid Valley?

I told her that it’s my father’s last night in KL and said that my dad would like to bring her out to eat. Plus, my sister is also arriving that night itself.

Luckily she said yes. So everything went well until I arrived at Mid Valley. I told Alex that we’re here and he got a shocked because we arrived 30 minutes earlier. He asked me to stall her and I did.

Below is the video of what happens next…

Fake plane crash turns into a marriage proposal

I’ve written a few post about amazing marriage proposal’s here and here.

Ryan and Carlie’s engagement is both cute and heart stopping at the same time.

Ryan took a two person plane out for a spin and took some great pictures of themselves and the view. Moments later he decided to fake that the plane is out of control. He asked Carlie to read out the emergency check list for him and to her surprise it is actually his proposal. I don’t wanna spoil too much of the details here, go ahead, press play!

Unbelievable wedding proposal involves a prank and thousands of people

There you go, just weeks ago I’ve posted Greatest marriage proposal ever? Really? Here we have another video showing an even greater wedding proposal done by a TV show Mobbed. It’s showing on Fox currently.

About the proposal. It’s absolutely outrageous. How can this guy ever top or be on par with what he has done on his wedding proposal night?

I’m not gonna write any spoilers for the video. It’s best you see it for yourself. But I do have one comment, the girl who splashed the water looks a lot like Katy Perry!

Again, I’m waiting for another wedding proposal that will trump this!

Greatest marriage proposal ever? Really?

Okay, you know how every other YouTube title is named ‘Greatest, best, most awesome marriage proposal ever!!!!111!!1!!1!1!’? And so happen my friend decided to tag me on FB to share this ‘greatest marriage proposal’ video.

I don’t normally think it’s great and all after every video I’ve watched. Yes I mean they are good and sweet but it just didn’t hit the spot. But somehow this really caught my attention.

Big congrats to Matt & Ginny on tying the knot!

Psst… Eventually you know someone with better video editing skills, better idea, a sweeter idea, a more heart melting idea will top this off right?

Embarrassing Moments: Groom faceoff

Exactly 2 years ago, I was at my friends wedding. A dear friend’s wedding which I’ve known since primary school. Ever since she moved to KL, she has been dating this guy which I’ve not seen till the wedding day itself.

I arrived on time at the wedding. Walk towards the reception and my friend saw me. I greeted and congratulate her and asked her to introduce her husband. He was busy entertaining guests and when he turned around to greet me. We’re both stunned for a moment. I was dressed up way better than he did on his wedding day.

I immediately walked to my table after shaking hands with him. My friends on the table were shocked at the way I dressed up for the wedding too!

And no, I ain’t gonna put any pictures to further embarrass him and my friend.
